I just got back from my spring break trip to Barcelona, Spain. I learned that Barcelona is in the Catalan region of Spain and has its own thing going on there. They speak Catalan in addition to Spanish, fly the Catalan flag proudly, and have their own traditions that are separate from many Spanish traditions. Barcelona sits on the Mediterranean Sea which lets it have a beach on one side and mountains on the other. I spent 3 days there and really enjoyed each of them. I hope you enjoy reading about my Barcelona Escapades!
Check out my Barcelona online photo albums - lots of pictures here:

This is a prodigious summary! Very interesting. Ok, so maybe if somebody dumps a bajillion bucks on me I will go one day. Those mosaics and tiles etc. were way cool, and I loved the whirlpool ceiling and whalebones. Although it looked like a kind of skinny whale. I'm glad you found your way back!
Hi Elizabeth!Awesome trip. Spain didn't do anything to tout Columbus and his discovery of the "new world"? The food sounds great. Whale's ribcage?? Did they get that many dead whales washing ashore? The art looks terrific. Like your mom says, if I hit the lottery I might see Barcelona some day. Have fun!
Wow! Looks like you had so much fun! Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us all about it so we can live vicariously through you! The pictures were so beautiful! It was great talking to you this weekend! Keep having a great time and keep telling us all about it!
Is today Friday? Well it's hard to tell! Without my usual markers (you know, Blog on Friday like clockwork) I am SO confused... it's not as if you have anything ELSE going on... oh. maybe you do. When I read your next blog I guess I'll know. This vicarious living is not as easy as it might look. :) Love you! Can't wait to hear your next story...
